    Free fall is when a falling object is free from any external forces except gravity. This is not commonly experienced because there is air resistance. In spite of this, Galileo was able to reason that falling objects accelerate at the same constant rate regardless of mass. This was tested by astronaut David Scott on the moon where there is no air resistance.
